Temporary Aquatics Closure
- Monday 8th January – Sunday 17th March 2024
- Specific re-open date TBC
We are excited to announce that the long-awaited renovations at the Whyalla Recreation Centre will soon commence. This is an exciting opportunity for the community to see the much-needed upgrades to improve the infrastructure and provide improved facilities for everyone.
This communication aims to provide you with essential information regarding the upcoming temporary closure of the aquatic area (including sauna) and its impact on our operations.
The renovation project is set to begin on Monday 8th January 2023, and based on ongoing discussions with the Whyalla City Council and the successful contractors, we anticipate the project to be completed mid-March.
Upon completion of the project; the spa will be operational, the leisure pool will boast new water features, the water slide will be removed, and a cutting-edge plant room will be in place.
Throughout the renovation phase, we will maintain regular communication with the Council, ensuring that you receive timely updates on the progress and any changes affecting the renovations.
Should the possibility of an early completion arise, we will promptly notify you.
During the aquatic closure, you have the flexibility to suspend your membership free of charge. To suspend, see Customer Service or complete the form below.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to be in touch.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we work through this development together.
Warm regards,
James Adair
Centre Manager
